offensive? possibly. some sort of rumor i heard once about "freedom of speech." and the theory of "if you don't like it, stop reading it." but that might take too much effort for some people, so instead they call the aclu or some nonsense.

they will ban things on blogs, but they won't stop, say, MAYA (muslim arab youth association) from sponsoring conventions in public places where they invite people to demonize the west and encourage violence and jihad. they will ban blogs, but good luck stopping a kkk rally or parade.

i think it's just a case of picking the easiest battle...
