Our review this week on the Classic Mysteries podcast is a screwball comedy with a murderous plot - or should it be a murder mystery with a touch of screwball comedy? Whatever. It's "If the Shroud Fits," by the husband-and-wife writing team known as Kelley Roos. You can listen to the full review here.
Dating from 1941, "If the Shroud Fits" follows newlywed couple Jeff and Haila Troy as they - and their friends - get involved in a murder at a photographer's studio. The cops suspect the photographer, who's a friend of the Troys, so they set out to clear his name. How they do so will amuse and, I hope, delight you. It's a fun Golden Age mystery, with lots of clues and even more red herrings, and it makes for a good read on a cold winter's night.
If that's the type of book you enjoy, how about visiting us at www.classicmysteries.net? You'll find reviews of more than a hundred classic mysteries along with related blog entries and a chance for you to comment about books you enjoy (or, for that matter, hate). I hope to see you there!
