Searching for Flash

Big news this week from Adobe: they are making technology available to Google and Yahoo to permit those search giants to search and index Flash.

At last.

In the past, I've always warned against putting too much faith in Flash. Despite enormous acceptance of the technology, it was virtually invisible to search engines - and if your web page is virtually invisible to search engines, it's unlikely than anybody is going to find you.

Now, that is changing. Check out CNET for an explanation of how it's happening and why it matters. It does matter - a great deal.
