King Kong vs. Godzilla

Now why should that old horror movie pop into my head when I read the news today about Microsoft's 44.6 billion dollar offer to buy Yahoo?

Well, probably because - if it's approved - we can expect a monster bash, as Microsoft-Yahoo faces off against Google.

And, in fact, that article in Crain's New York Business wonders whether Google might then try to acquire AOL, thereby adding even further to its status as the reigning megamonster.

We do live in interesting times...
